Kristen Keum-Boo Earrings
Simple and flattering, these minimalist sterling silver earrings feature tips with hand-applied gold keum-boo.
Keum-boo is an ancient metalworking technique where gold foil is welded (molecularly bonded) to another metal. This offers superior wear to gold leaf, which uses glue, the gold layer is much thicker than that offered by plating, and it is far more durable than paint. The transition from gold to silver is set off with a hand-applied layer of ombre antiquing. Finished with a protective coating of wax.
